Norwich City are looking like they are set for a return to the Premier League as they currently hold a two-point lead at the top of the Championship table.
Credits to Daniel Farke’s man-management skills and his ability to get the best out of the current crop of players. The German manager has employed an exciting, high-pressing style of football that has simply been a treat to watch.
However, Norwich City cannot afford to take anything for granted at this stage even though they sit at at the top of the table, two points ahead of Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United. Farke needs to continue plucking away points and keep the momentum going.
Although they are well covered in the defence, they have been quite dependent on Teemu Pukki’s goals this season. Pukki has been a revelation in the Championship, firing goals left, right and centre, proving to be one of the bargain buys of the season.
But should the Canaries get promoted, they simply cannot rely on Pukki to score goals every weekend. If there is one position that Farke needs to think about strengthening, it’s the strike department. And the Norwich manager should target Zenit Saint-Petersburg hitman, Sebastian Driussi.
Sebastian Driussi, 23, joined Zenit from River Plate in 2017 but it is this season where he has managed to show his true colours. The Argentine has bagged 6 goals and 11 assists across all competitions, blossoming in a free role given by manager Sergei Semak.
Technically gifted and tactically versatile forward, Driussi can play anywhere in the attack and come up with the goods. The 23-year-old possesses excellent vision and creativity that allows him to create chances for his teammates.
The Buenos Aires native is skillful, possess good pace and sharp dribbling abilities that enable him to run at defenders and cause problems. He is a very direct player who can provide cover for Pukki and also play on the wings.

Signing a player of Driussi’s flexibility would give Norwich a cutting edge in their attack next season. At 23, he is yet to enter his peak years and judging by his development in recent years, he will only get better from here on.
Working with a manager like Farke, who is known to get the best out of young talents, could be highly beneficial in Driussi’s development. Hence, Norwich must do everything in their powers to sign Driussi from Zenit ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
