Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently claimed that Manchester United will try to solve their attacking issues in January.
The Red Devils have struggled to score consistently and their forwards haven’t been all that great this season either.
Daniel James is the one positive to be taken from the attack, however, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial haven’t clicked one bit.
Sky Sports claims that Callum Wilson of Bournemouth is a target for the Red Devils and will monitor the 27-year-old.
While the Red Devils have been linked with a bigger name too, like Mario Mandzukic (h/t Sky Sports), a move for Wilson could be the right step for United.
The Bournemouth striker has been on a rise under Eddie Howe and has even broken into the England team under Gareth Southgate.
The 27-year-old has performed well in the Premier League on a regular basis and leads the line well for the Cherries.
Wilson also has the pace to trouble most defences in the competition, and a step up to a bigger club is the least he deserves.
United have a couple of quality wingers who would help Wilson thrive at Old Trafford. Scoring goals at home shouldn’t be a problem for the Red Devils, but the Bournemouth star is great away from home too.
The 27-year-old already has five goals to his name from seven Premier League games this season. The Englishman was in great form in the previous campaign too as he found the back of the net 14 times and provided nine assists.
That was a decent return for the Englishman, and he can score more goals with the right kind of support. Bournemouth also have quality attackers such as Ryan Fraser, Josh King and Harry Wilson, but on paper, United have the better set of forwards.
Wilson has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham (h/t Metro) in the past but United need a striker who has done well in the Premier League.
United could land any striker in the world given their brand, however, going domestic isn’t a bad option for them.
The Bournemouth man has proved he can star in the Premier League and would be a quality addition to the Red Devils.
