Why Hull City Have Committed The Biggest Blunder With The Signing Of This 25-year Old

Ouch! – Why Nouha Dicko Is Not A Good Signing By Hull City

Hull City’s new signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nouha Dicko, has spoken about Hull City’s ambition and named it as his main reason for joining the Tigers. The striker has signed on at the KCOM on a three-year deal with the option of a further year, the fee for the transfer at this point remaining undisclosed by the clubs.

Dicko will be hoping to get his Championship career back on track, having found himself way down the pecking order at Molineux since the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo and a whole host of new players over the summer.

Prior to his knee injury back in 2015, Dicko was seen as a prolific marksman, scoring 27 league goals for Wolves in his first two seasons. He has somewhat struggled since then though and really needs something to go his way now.

He is now fit and raring to go, assuring his new fans that he is full of ambition and believing that his new club matches that. Dicko believes that he has a good goal scoring record at this level, something which some Wolves fans will question overall, though he has been on the comeback trail and it may be unfair to judge him yet.

I hate to be a broken record about this, but again, whether or not Dicko is a good signing for Hull depends on your point of view. If you are fine with Hull having to sell their best talent having been relegated and replace them with value options, then yes, give Dicko a chance.

However, the fact is that in the past, Hull had enough nous to sign the likes of Harry Maguire, Andrew Robertson, Tom Huddlestone, Curtis Davies, Sam Clucas and of course manager Marco Silva, but they have been quickly replaced this summer by not only Dicko but also by Kevin Stewart, Jon Toral, Jackson Irvine and Fraizer Campbell. To be honest they won’t set the world alight.

With the ‘glass half full’ attitude, taken mostly by the local media and some fan groups, Hull still believe they should be contenders to go back up to the Premier League and so with that in mind, Dicko and others are not good signings for Hull City.

Hull is easily a big enough place to have a good Premier League side, even given the local competition for the fans from their rugby league teams. So their demise in front of our eyes is disheartening.
