Why Chelsea would be the ideal destination for this £110,000-a-week star and not Man United

Aaron Ramsey would be a perfect fit at Chelsea and not at Manchester United

According to claims from Express, Arsenal have rejected a request from midfielder Aaron Ramsey over a new contract. The Gunners want the Welsh midfielder to stay at the club, but with his contract running out at the end of this season, time is starting to run out.

Express further states that new manager Unai Emery wants Ramsey to stay, however, the 27-year-old will be sold if he decides against signing a new deal. It is being suggested that Arsenal are unwilling to pay Ramsey’s demand of £270,000-a-week. He currently earns £110,000-a-week.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been alerted by this player unrest at the Emirates Stadium. (Express)

Though, there is only one place out of the two, where would Ramsey settle in easily? Chelsea or Manchester United? The answer would be Chelsea and here’s why:

Chelsea’s playing system will suit Ramsey

If we compare the playing style at Chelsea and Manchester United right now, there is a stark contrast. On one side, new Blues manager Maurizio Sarri is planning to make his team play an attractive brand of football in the league while on the other shore, Jose Mourinho is struggling to implement his low-block, counter-attacking system at Old Trafford.

The way Arsenal used to play under Arsene Wenger, and the way they currently play under Emery, it is pretty clear where the Welshman would want to go if he leaves the Emirates stadium.

Moving to Chelsea could be perfect for him in a sense that Sarri will give him the license to move forward from that No.8 position, and allow him to press high to help the attackers.

Mourinho’s system will force the player to be a defensively astute midfielder before making forays up the pitch.

Verdict

It is quite a simple algorithm in this case as to where a particular player will be happy if he leaves the current club. Chelsea are in the new era of playing football, for which any attack-minded player would jump in to take part. At Manchester United though, the situation is the exact opposite in the sense of playing style and the managerial epidemic.

Ramsey should do everything to stay at Arsenal and play a key role in the renaissance of the club. If the contract situation doesn’t get sorted, Chelsea would be the ideal place.
