Who is This Norwegian From Real Madrid That Liverpool Are Looking To Sign? Everything You Need To Know

Share

One of the biggest names to have signed for Real Madrid in recent times but has hardly ever played, sounds a bit too familiar doesn’t it? This time however the player in question still has a lot of time on his hands if he is to become one of the best in the world, something that many fans believed Martin Odegaard would become.

The Norwegian was signed by Real a couple of years ago with a lot of fanfare and even though he holds records such as being the youngest player to ever represent Real Madrid, nothing really has worked in his favour ever since he moved to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The now 17-year-old plays mostly for the Real Madrid B team and made 36 appearances for them last season but nothing really stood out. Odegaard though has a lot of experience under his belt and even was the youngest player ever to represent Norway and also was the youngest scorer in the Norwegian top flight during his time with Stromsgodset.

The player hasn’t really had a great time of late and barely looks like making it to the top team of the Spanish side and it could be the perfect moment for him to move away from the side and look at another team for more experience and growth.

One team looking to sign the youngster into their side is Liverpool. The Merseyside club were one of the plethora of teams that gave Odegaard a chance to train with the side and even though the youngster did snub them at one point, the doors of Anfield could be opening for the star in the making if the papers are to be believed.

Odegaard is still young and has a lot of time on his side to help him get better but the fact that he isn’t playing regular first team football is hurting him the most. The 17-year-old might not break into the starting XI of Liverpool at the moment but he can be on the bench and with the way Klopp has given so many chances to youngster, Odegaard would be hoping for something similar, though a loan signing seems to be the most viable option for all three parties involved.

Carlo Ancelotti recently stated that the signing of Odegaard was a “publicity stunt” by Real Madrid and that wouldn’t have gone all too well for the midfielder and he would be charged up to prove many of his doubters wrong.

The move to Liverpool could be his last chance and in spite of being one player who has a lot of great control and an eye for the pass to the strikers, he hasn’t really been tested at the highest level in his career.

Odegaard has a last chance to get things done right and his chance at Liverpool might be the last opportunity he gets to play for a top club before he falls into the obscurity that a lot of players end up getting into if they do not reach their potential.
