West Bromwich Albion endured a dismal Premier League campaign last season, which saw the club get relegated to the Championship.
The Baggies finished last in the league, scoring just a total of 31 points in 38 games. Interim manager Darren Moore did win the manager of the month award for the last few gameweeks but his efforts were all in vain as the club faced the drop.
The Baggies will now be aiming to make a swift return to the Premier League next season and in order to do so, they are going to have to hold onto their best players. The club have already lost goalkeeper Ben Foster to Watford this summer and there are high chances that a number of players could leave the club in search of Premier League football.
One such player West Brom should keep hold of is Salomon Rondon. The Venezuelan striker is one of the Baggies’ best players and the club should certainly do everything to keep him in their ranks. Rondon joined the Baggies from Zenit in 2015, after scoring 20 goals in 37 appearances for the Russian outfit.
He was an explosive forward for the Baggies, with his bullish aggressive style on the ball making it very hard for defenders to stop him. The Venezuelan hitman has made a total of 108 appearances for West Brom since his arrival, scoring a total of 24 goals and providing 7 assists.
He has been a constant threat for the Baggies going forward and was one of their few shining lights last season in an otherwise disappointing campaign. The 28-year-old scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 36 appearances for the Baggies last season.
He is a strong forward whose ability to hold the ball high up the field is very impressive. The striker is a deadly finisher in front of goal and also poses a huge aerial threat. He is a menacing presence inside the box.
As West Bromwich Albion aim to make a strong start to life in the Championship, Darren Moore should certainly go all out and hold onto his prized striker. A number of Premier League clubs could be knocking on their door in an attempt to sign the Venezuelan.

Rondon is a very experienced forward and his ability is undoubted. If the Baggies can hold onto him, there’s a good chance for them to go on and clinch the Championship title next season.
