Predicted Arsenal Lineup To Face Bournemouth In The Premier League

Arsenal will travel to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday to face Bournemouth as both clubs look to seal precious points. The Gunners come into this game after a goalless draw against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. As far as the Premier League is concerned, the Gunners are in dire need of 3 points since they have now slipped to 6th place, 5 points behind bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Eddie Howe’s men have been in reasonable form and they could prove to be quite a challenge at their home ground.

Team News

As per early team news, Mesut Ozil is expected to be available, which is an encouraging sign. However, Arsene Wenger’s central midfield options look increasingly bleak with Jack Wilshere picking up an injury against Chelsea. Although the injury is not a serious one, he will miss out on Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Arsene Wenger

Petr Cech (GK)

Cech’s solidity in goal has been a blessing throughout the season. His experience has proven to be vital and he will start on Sunday.

Calum Chambers (CB)

Chambers is known for thriving in high-press situations and that was quite evident in the game against Chelsea. He brings a sense of physical aggression that has been missing at the back for Arsenal and he should start against Bournemouth.

Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

Mustafi has been in good form on the whole and continues to impress at the back. He can hold tight and restrict the opponents even in the most demanding situations, which should be enough for him to earn a starting spot for the upcoming match.

Granit Xhaka (middle)

Rob Holding (CB)

After receiving a lot of flak, Holding managed to turn things around against Chelsea. The Blues were undoubtedly a tough side to play against and yet, Holding stood strong and did remarkably well.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (LWB)

With Kolasinac yet to recover from his injury, Maitland-Niles has truly stepped up and has made the left wing-back position his own. He will start against Bournemouth after putting up a string of impressive displays.

Hector Bellerin (RWB)

Bellerin has been quite solid lately and his attacking runs have also shown signs of improvement. On Sunday, he should retain his starting spot.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

Xhaka has been in decent shape of late and seems to be able to dominate the midfield a lot better. A sure starter.

Mohamed Elneny (CM)

With Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere out with injuries, Elneny seems to be next in line to take up the central midfield role. This will be a good chance for the Egyptian to do well.

Alexandre Lacazette (on the ball)

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

After gracing the bench for the League Cup match against Chelsea, Sanchez should return to the lineup against Bournemouth.

Mesut Ozil (RW)

Ozil is also expected to return on Sunday. His creativity and trickery continue to be unparalleled at Arsenal and he is a key player in the squad.

Alexandre Lacazette (CF)

He is looking devoid of confidence and looked frustrated in the last couple of matches. He needs to get his name on the scoresheet against Bournemouth. Lacazette can be quite lethal and Wenger should hand him a start.
