Strongest West Bromwich Albion Line-up After The End Of Summer Transfer Window

West Bromwich Albion have had a very good summer transfer window. The Baggies, after tailing off towards the end of last season, needed to strengthen their ranks significantly in order to continue their progress and development under manager Tony Pulis.

The club have managed to significantly improve their squad by bringing in a number of new faces in. Starting off with Jay Rodriguez, the club then brought in Ahmed Hegazy on loan from Al Ahly and Gareth Barry from Everton. Youngster Oliver Burke was signed from RB Leipzig a day before the summer deadline and the Baggies also signed left-back Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal. They also managed to sign midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

Having done some impressive business over the window, here’s how West Brom’s strongest line-up could like.

Manager: Tony Pulis

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Ben Foster (GK)

The England international has been a wall between the sticks for the Baggies and will be the No.1 choice ahead of Myhill.

Craig Dawson (RB)

The defender has started off the season as a centre-back and has performed admirably. But, once everyone is fit, he is likely to return to the right-back spot, with Allan Nyom dropping out.

Ahmed Hegazi (CB)

The Egyptian defender has been brilliant since coming in this summer on loan and should keep his place in the heart of the defence.

Kieran Gibbs

Jonny Evans (CB)

With all the transfer saga aside, the club captain is fit and raring to go and should partner Hegazi in the centre of the backline.

Kieran Gibbs (LB)

The Baggies finally have a recognised left-back in their ranks! Chris Brunt has done a more than decent job at it, but with Gibbs coming into the squad, we could see Pulis use him in the back four.

Grzegorz Krychowiak (CM)

One of the major transfer coups of the summer, the Polish midfielder arriving on loan from PSG is a class operator and should straight away walk into West Brom’s midfield with Jake Livermore being the likely candidate to drop out.

Grzegorz Krychowiak

Gareth Barry (CM)

The veteran midfielder has shown no signs of stopping and has been very impressive in the few games he has played for West Brom. Should partner Krychowiak in the middle of the park.

Oliver Burke (RW)

The 20-year old is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Britain right now and is coming on the back of a decent season with RB Leipzig where he managed 5 goals and 4 assists. Should take up his spot on the right flank.

James Morrison (CAM)

The 31-year old will take up the attacking midfield position for the Baggies, until at least Nacer Chadli sorts out his issues with Pulis.

Gareth Barry

Matt Phillips (LW)

The pacey winger has already scored once and registered two assists this season and will get the nod down the left-hand side of the attack.

Jay Rodriguez (ST)

The summer arrival from Southampton has started off very well at the Hawthorns, scoring two goals and chalking up an assist so far. Should continue to lead the line ahead of Salomon Randon.
