Well Done Paul Clement – This Swansea City Line-Up Featuring Their Deadline Day Arrival Looks Quite Strong

Probable Swansea City Line-Up Featuring Wilfried Bony and Renato Sanches

Swansea City completed two brilliant transfers before the transfer deadline. They have captured Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich on a season long loan and Wilfried Bony from Manchester City for a £12m fee. These two have added to the arrivals of Sam Clucas, Roque Mesa, Erwin Mulder and Tammy Abraham (loan).

Swansea seem to have done well to replace Gylfi Sigurdsson, who joined Everton earlier in the summer. The Icelandic international was crucial to the Swansea side in recent seasons and his departure would surely have shaken up the club. However, no player is irreplaceable and Paul Clement has done a great job in signing Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich.

The arrival of Bony is a good one too and is a brilliant replacement for the departed Fernando Llorente. Here’s how Swansea could potentially line up, now that the summer transfer window is done and dusted.

Manager: Paul Clement

Formation: 4-4-2 (Diamond)

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

The Polish goalkeeper is the preferred choice between the sticks ahead of Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Mulder. He seems to have the trust of Paul Clement.

Kyle Naughton (RB)

The former Spurs man is the first-choice right-back for the Swans ahead of Angel Rangel and that is not likely to change.

Federico Fernandez (CB)

The Argentine has been the Swans’ most solid and reliable defender since Clement’s appointment and will keep his place in the backline.

Renato Sanches

Alfie Mawson (CB)

With Kyle Bartley ruled out for some time due to an injury, Mawson is likely to be unchallenged for his spot in the heart of the defence.

Martin Olsson (LB)

The Swedish left-back has developed into a key player for the Swans and offers a great outlet going forward. Undisputed starter.

Sam Clucas (DM)

The former Hull City man arrived last week and made his debut in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, impressing one and all with his performance. Should make the defensive midfield position his own as the season progresses.

Renato Sanches (CM)

This has to be one of the biggest transfers of the summer. The Portuguese, despite coming in on the back of an underwhelming season with Bayern, remains a quality player and will be a great boost for the Swans. Expect him to occupy one of the central midfield positions.

Tom Carroll (CM)

The Englishman is another player who has become a key member of this Swansea outfit, with his darting runs forward from the middle of the park and accurate crosses into the box becoming a strong feature of the way they play.

Leroy Fer (CAM)

The Dutchman will take the No.10 spot in the line-up for the Swans. His ability to drive the team forward and the knack of scoring important goals will be vital.

Wilfried Bony (ST)

The Ivorian’s career has gone downhill ever since he left the Liberty Stadium for the Etihad. Now, returning to his old stomping ground, he will take Fernando Llorente’s spot in the line-up and will hope to recover his goal-scoring touch.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

The loanee from Chelsea has started off on a good note with his temporary club and will keep his spot in the playing XI, ahead of Jordan Ayew.
