Watford opinion: Should the Hornets sign Pedro Rebocho?

According to a report from The Mirror, Premier League duo Leicester City and Watford are set to battle it out for the signing of Guingamp’s Pedro Rebocho in the summer. The 24-year-old has been a shining light in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the French side in Ligue 1 this season.

Leicester City will be looking for a replacement for Christian Fuchs, whose contract will expire at the end of the season. Pedro Rebocho will be an ideal replacement for the Austrian in the summer but Watford should beat the Foxes for his signing in the summer.

The Hornets slipped in their pursuit of a top-seven finish after a poor run of form in the last few weeks. However, Javi Gracia has done an outstanding job at Watford this season and irrespective of what happens on the final day, he will achieve the club’s highest ever finish in the Premier League.

Watford have shown that they are capable of troubling the bigger sides, which should fill them with confidence going into next season. A summer window with a few additions in areas of need would make them a huge threat in the league next season and Javi Gracia should identify his signings soon.

One player who will make a huge difference is Pedro Rebocho. The Portuguese under-21 international has been brilliant for Guingamp this season, for whom he has provided 7 assists this season.

Bottom-placed Guingamp are almost certain to go down, barring an absolute miracle in the final three games of the season.

The French outfit are 8 points behind 17th placed Monaco and Watford should capitalize on their potential relegation to lure Rebocho to the Premier League in the summer.

Jose Holebas will turn 35 next month and despite his brilliant performances over the last few seasons, his age will begin to play a part in the near future. Summer signing Adam Masina has been impressive when he has featured but added competition in the form of Rebocho will only make him better.

A quick and strong full-back, who is capable of providing a brilliant balance between attack and defence, Rebocho will be a phenomenal addition to Watford’s squad next season.

Conclusion

Pedro Rebocho is a fantastic full-back, who would do brilliantly in the Premier League. The 24-year-old is brilliant on the attack and solid in defence, and he would be a fantastic long-term replacement to Holebas at Vicarage Road in the coming years.
