Twitter Reactions For Suarez’s Announcement To Leave Anfield, Shirts Burnt Already?

Share

The news has finally arrived and it was the man himself who announced it. Luis Suárez has confirmed that he wants to leave Liverpool this summer and Uruguayan forward insists that his desire to leave Anfield is purely because of his “family” and his “image”.

Talking in an Uruguay news conference, Suarez said:

“ My reason for leaving is not the money, If it were for the money I would have left already. My main reason is my family and my image – that’s my priority now. It’s a difficult moment for me. The coach and my colleagues know that they didn’t treat me well [in England]. I don’t feel comfortable here any more, so I think it’s understandable that I leave.”

“I don’t have any offer yet,” he continued. “I don’t know if I will finally leave or if I will stay. The club knows what I think and what I want.

“I don’t know what will happen. I have a contract. If I stay I will do my best but I don’t think that will happen because of all the bullying from the press against me and the team is very aware of everything.”

Albeit, Liverpool for their part have come out and announced that the striker is not for sale and will remain at Anfield. According to a Liverpool spokesperson who was addressing the issue, said:

“Luis Suarez is not for sale. Neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to Liverpool. The club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract. The club will not be making any further comment at this stage.”

So what has Liverpool fans have to say about it? Well there are mixed reactions out there, but the main concern from the fans is the reason that Suarez has given, if he had just told the truth about wanting to play in the Champions League fair enough, but because of the media? Here we leave you with some of the reactions from Twitter.

Last but not least, here is the first picture of his burning shirt that has been circling around the Internet.
