Transfer Opinion: How Does This Versatile Spanish Attacker Fit Into Chelsea?

Chelsea have always been on the lookout for good players like any other top club and while some of their transfer dealings don’t work out as they would have liked, similar to the Schurrle, De Bruyne and Salah deals, some of these transfers work like a charm, Fabregas, Costa and Hazard. Chelsea seem to be into a philosophy of buying the best young talent available and they seem to have set their eyes on another Spanish attacker who has been playing his socks off for the Spanish Champions.

Time for some Koke

While Chelsea have plundered the Atletico Madrid side with the signings of Diego Costa and Filipe Luis, they seem to be ready to make another Madrid player their next signing and probably will help them in the attacking third.

They have been in the running to sign Koke, the 23 year old attacker who can play in a range of positions in the final third of the pitch. The attacking midfielder can play anywhere in midfield and can play as a winger as well on either side of the pitch, but his preferred position is playing in the right wing.

This would open a lot of options for Chelsea as they have been looking to get a few more attacking options in the wing areas. They have tried the likes of Salah, Schurrle and De Bruyne but to no avail as all the players have been shipped to other clubs. They have signed Juan Cuadrado but the Colombian seems to be taking in some time to adjust to not only a new country but to a completely different level of football, maybe next season we could see a better Cuadrado.

Koke does not have to play in the wing and can easily slot into an attacking midfield role right behind the striker, he would pair up nicely with old team mate Diego Costa and that would be a great pairing for Chelsea and Spain. Koke could work out to be a brilliant signing as Chelsea do not really have a lot of attacking options form the midfield position, Oscar might be one player, but he has looked a little out of touch in the second half of the season and Chelsea have had to play Fabregas in a more advanced role as they try to ensure the team does not lose its steam at the end of the season.

Koke has a bright future and he would be a great signing for any team but he should only make that move to Stamford Bridge if he guaranteed game time and not become a fixture on the bench.
