According to a report from the Metro in May, La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to offload as many as 14 players in the summer in order to sign the likes of Paul Pogba and Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen to bolster their squad.
The Galacticos have completed the signing of Hazard from Chelsea but they will have to free up some space in their squad as well as their wage bill in order to complete the signings of their other two humungous targets.
Eriksen would be the easiest one to complete considering that the Danish superstar has just 12 months left on his current deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Ajax star is yet to commit his long-term future and Madrid will have another Galactico if they manage to sign him in the summer.
However, a player of Eriksen’s quality will cost an outrageous amount despite the fact that he will be available for free transfer next summer.
The Galacticos have already spent an extraordinary amount for the signing of Hazard, Mendy, Eder Militao and Luka Jovic, and the signing of Eriksen will make a bigger statement than all of the above.
Tottenham are surely set to suffer a humungous blow if Real Madrid snap up Eriksen in the summer and with such limited quality available in terms of players who are both world-class and experienced, Pochettino could find it hard to achieve their ambitions.
Spurs keeping hold of Eriksen with the risk of losing him for free next summer will be a foolish decision financially so Daniel Levy and Pochettino will have no choice but to sell him in the summer if he refuses a new contract.
Spurs should take advantage of Real Madrid’s situation and use Eriksen to lure one of their former targets in Isco this summer. Pochettino admitted in a press conference that he was indeed interested in Isco when he was at Malaga, and he now has the resources and the leverage to finally get his man.
Isco would be an extraordinary signing for Spurs and the Spaniard has proven himself time and again at the top level.
The three-time Champions League winner is Tottenham’s best option to replace Eriksen and if they can pull the deal off, Mauricio Pochettino’s chances of finally getting his hands on a trophy will increase massively.

Isco is undoubtedly one of the best players in world football. The Spaniard has been short of confidence due to the lack of faith from his manager but with Pochettino’s trust, he can light up the Premier League next season.
