Tottenham have been productive so far in the current transfer window, adding the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke while the transfer of Giovani Lo Celso is imminent.
Yet, on the receiving end, Spurs lost a valuable asset in Kieran Trippier, who has made a shocking switch to Atletico Madrid.
Mauricio Pochettino needs to be concerned over the right-back void since Kyle Walker-Peters remains the only option and counting on him for the entire season wouldn’t be a wise move.
Given that, it is the best time for Spurs to rekindle their interest in AC Milan full-back, Davide Calabria, who was their transfer target months before. (h/t Football London).
A youth product of Milan, Calabria broke into the main team in 2015. However, he got his breakthrough in the 2017/18 campaign, where he made more than 20 appearances.
Calabria’s journey so far with the Rossoneri has been riddled with injuries and yet, his overwhelming potential can’t be put aside.
He has made a total of 19 appearances for the Italian U21 team till date.
His goal and assists tally from the last term may look less appealing but his stats certainly need a serious look.
Calabria secured a pass success percentage of 83, with an average of 2.2 clearances per game. He averaged 3 tackles per game, which is higher than his peers like Elseid Hysaj, Danilo D’ Ambrosio and Joao Cancelo.
Spurs would benefit highly from the Italian prospect since he can play as a left-back and a defensive midfielder as well.

Pochettino highly fancies a 4-2-3-1 formation, where full-backs tend to have more significant roles than any others on the field. Besides, Calabria looks like a viable addition to the club’s long-term future.
Spurs are looking like a revamped side, following their new signings preceded by a successful Champions League outing the last term.
Having a player like Calabria, who is profoundly talented with a handful of experience in Italy’s top-flight, would help them make a statement in the upcoming season.
