Top Five Arsenal Youngsters Who Could Become A Big Name In Coming Years

Share

It is not a secret to anyone that Arsene Wenger is an enthusiast of young players, and even if not every time things have gone well with his philosophy, there have been a lot of good times for the French boss’ team as well.

Although he’s had some regrets about certain players, Wenger almost every time has found a gem in a youngster. For instance, former England standout Andy Cole was part of Arsenal’s academy, and many others. Today,  we’ll take a look at the top 5 Arsenal young players who can become a superstar in the coming years.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles:

Like most of Arsenal’s prospects, Maitland-Niles is a prodigy with the ball in his feet. Besides, Maitland-Niles is a “workaholic”, as his former coach Mick McCarthy said that the youngster’s constantly working to improve his game. He has already played in the UEFA Champions League as he replaced Aaron Ramsey against Galatasaray in 2014, that day he became Arsenal’s second-youngest Champions League player, just behind Jack Wilshere. This kid is only 19 years old and he still has time to improve his skills, but given the experience he has already recorded with Ipswich Town, you can tell he’s definitely special.

Yassin Fortune:

Fortune is a versatile striker, who arrived in North London last year from RC Lens, where he played for their U-19 team. Yassin can play either as a striker, or a playmaker. He has been doing great things, not only with his club, but representing his country as well; as Yassin has played for the U17 France national team with great success. This guy is only 17 years old, so he’ll need more experience before making an impact for the gunners.

Christopher Willock:

Wenger has good expectations with this lad, as the 18-year-old has already been included in the list of players to make the pre-season last year, traveling with Arsenal’s first team to Singapore. Besides, he is used to train with first team even when he plays for the U21 team. There were rumors that both Barcelona and Manchester United were trying to steal him from Arsenal, but eventually the versatile and speedy forward decided to stay in North London.

Vlad Dragomir:

He is actually one of the most interesting prospects in Wenger list. He came from Romania being an unknown player, but as soon he landed in London, he demonstrated his level and let people know who he was. Dragomir is projected to be one of the best players in the world if he stays healthy and gets regular chances. The youngster is a great playmaker, besides owning a prodigious left foot and incredible dribbling skills. Vlad is seen like one of the best players in his generation, and the 16-year-old midfielder is keen to prove himself for the minor teams of Arsenal in order to earn Arsene’s confidence.

Alex Iwobi:

At only 20 years of age, this winger has already made it to the first team with high praise. Alex had a great 2015/16 season, debuting in the first team and displaying big performances, becoming one of Wenger’s favourite choices near the sidelines of the pitch.Besides, he’s related to Jay Jay Okocha, so you know talent runs in the Nigerian blood. Iwobi is a total game changer who plays with a lot of pace and given what he’s shown so far, we definitely think he’s more than ready to become a steady contributor for the Gunners.
