Burton Albion 0-5 Hull City: Tigers Make Easy Work Of A Sorry Brewers Side

Another big win for Hull against relegation rivals and that lifted them to 16th in the Championship table, a mighty 9 points above the drop zone with only four games left to play, pretty much ensuring their survival.

Convincingly ahead at the break, they dominated the game and added three more goals after half-time to snatch a thoroughly convincing win.

Hull City Player Ratings

Alan McGregor– 7/10

The experienced goalkeeper didn’t have a difficult game and actually didn’t have a single save to make for the entirety of the first-half. Made a couple of good saves in the second half though to keep his clean sheet intact.

Fikayo Tomori – 7/10

The youngster will be very pleased with his performance. He looked solid defensively and also managed to put in an excellent attacking display.

Michael Dawson – 8/10

The experienced centre-back had a great game. He managed to keep a clean sheet and also make a goal for his team.

Jackson Irvine

Angus MacDonald – 8/10

The other Hull centre-back also had a solid game and partnered Dawson well. Tackled brilliantly and towered above the opposition with his aerial clearances.

Stephen Kingsley – 7/10

Kingsley performed on par with the rest. Nothing stand-out but kept the right-hand side of the Burton team quiet.

Markus Henriksen – 6.5/10

Henriksen did not have the best of games. He won a lot of his aerial challenges and a couple of tackles but his passing percentage was lower than usual.

David Meyler – 8/10

David Meyler added another goal to his tally with another well-placed penalty. He also dominated the midfield, tackling hard and winning all of his aerial challenges. A beast in the middle.

Harry Wilson – 9/10

Wilson looked excellent on the wing for Hull, causing many threats to the Burton back line. He grabbed a goal for his efforts.

David Meyler

Jackson Irvine – 9/10

Had a fantastic game. He tackled well for his team, he won everything that came his way and also managed to create a goal. Had the perfect evening.

Kamil Grosicki – 10/10

Grosicki was finally given his start by Adkins, and boy did he shine. Grabbed two goals and looked absolute brilliant down the left for the Tigers. Every time he got on the ball, it looked like he was going to create a chance. A brilliant performance.

Fraizer Campbell – 6.5/10

Looked the dullest of the Hull forward line and didn’t provide any threat. Had two shots on target but another goalless game for the striker.

Substitutes

Kevin Stewart – 6.5/10

Replaced Henriksen in the 67th minute and did alright. Looked good in a tackle.

Will Keane – 7.5/10

Came on in the 75th minute to replace Fraizer Campbell and immediately provided some threat up front. Grabbed himself a goal.

Ola Aina – 6.5/10

Came on in the 83rd minute to give Stephen Kingsley a rest. Looked solid for the 10 minutes he played.
