The Premier League may be home to some of the best strikers in Europe with the likes of Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero lighting up match days, but some of the playmakers aren’t so bad either.

5. Theo Walcott

Walcott

Surprised to see a winger in the list? Theo Walcott seems like one of those sporadic players that can’t really do much and only really have one big attribute, in his case, speed. But the England international does more than it seems at Arsenal, it may not look pretty, and he may be far from one of the world’s most naturally gifted players, but his assist tally is impressive. In 124 Premier League appearances for the Gunners Walcott has found the back of the net 42 times, while assisting 54. Even though statistics aren’t everything, they certainly makes Walcott look a lot better.

4. Wayne Rooney

Rooney

Not a playmaker as such, but more of an orthodox striker, Wayne Rooney scores important goals for Manchester United, but also assists quite often also. 149 Premier League goals in 292 appearances shows that he can be lethal when he is on his game, while he has also assisted 43 times. Rooney may be another case of not being the most talented player, but tends to get the job done.

3. Eden Hazard

Hazard

Eden Hazard may be the shortest serving Premier League player on this list, but he has to make it due to sheer brilliance and individual talent. Hazard joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012, and has gone on to be arguably the best player in England. Scoring 21 times in 84 games shows he knows where the goal is, and has also contributed to 26 assists. It may be unfair to class him above the likes of Wayne Rooney on this list, but every logical Premier League fan can tell that the Belgium international is clearly the superior player at present.

2. David Silva

Silva

When talking about the Premier League’s best attacking midfielders, David Silva is widely considered to be the best, and rightly so. A full Spain international, World Cup winner, European Championship winner and Premier League champion. In 111 Premier League appearances, the former Valencia man has scored 24 goals and has assisted 52, making him Manchester City’s most important player since he joined in 2010.

1. Juan Mata

Mata

Chelsea’s Spanish genius, Juan Mata is a contender for the title of the Premier League’s best midfielder, playmaker and also overall best player. Loved by Chelsea fans for his wonderful passing, exquisite control, phenomenal work rate and Harry Houdini-like trickery. In 133 Chelsea appearances the World Cup winner has scored 33 goals and has also created 58, showing he can give Chelsea the creative spark they need when they need it, and can also score when they need it.

Note: We didnt include Mesut Ozil because he is yet to complete a full season in the premier league.
