Top 5 Passers From EPL Game Week 13 Featuring Arsenal and Chelsea Stars

Mesut Ozil

The Premier Leaguer returned after the international break with a lot of dramas, all eyes were glued at the Etihad where Manchester City hosted Liverpool and most pundits expecting a City win. What transpired was unbelievable as Liverpool tore into City and won the game 4-1, inflicting the biggest home defeat for the Citizens since they moved to the Etihad.

There were mixed fortunes for the other teams at the top with Manchester United grabbing a late-late win while Arsenal slipped up, literally, against West Bromwich Albion to a defeat. Leicester’s dream run continued as they defeated Newcastle by three goals and Tottenham did its chances no harm of making it into the top four by thrashing West Ham 4-1.

With so many goals, there are bound to be a lot of passes going about and we provide the top five passes from game week 13 of the Premier League using Squawka.com.

Mesut Ozil – Arsenal

Though the team didn’t get the win to stay ahead of the chasing pack, Mesut Ozil did provide 79 successful passes against West Brom. The German was also the reason why Arsenal took the lead as his floated delivery from a free kick was turned into a goal by Olivier Giroud. Another assist, another great performance for a player who was thought to be past his sell-by date a few months ago.

Victor Wanyama – Southampton

The Saints were undone by some Stoke City magic, but Victor Wanyama was one of the better players for the South coast side. The midfielder had 64 successful passes during the 90 minutes, but it was his ability to provide the key passes throughout the game which puts him on the list. Wanyama provided three key passes in the game, but the Saints just couldn’t break a well – drilling Stoke City defence.

Gareth Barry – Everton

The Everton midfielder might not be getting any younger but if he keeps on performing at this rate, he could well be playing for a number of years at the top level. The Englishman was at the heart of all that was good as Everton thrashed Aston Villa 4-0 and Barry completed 85 passes during the game with an accuracy of 86%.

Cesc Fabregas – Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas

At least the Blues got rid of the blues with a 1-0 win over Norwich. Cesc Fabregas might not have gotten on the score sheet, but he did do his best in the centre of midfield. The Spaniard completed 95 of his passes against the Canaries with an accuracy of 89%, he also brought in the assist for Diego Costa which got Chelsea all three points.

Santi Cazorla – Arsenal

Santi Cazorla

Thankfully this post is about passing and how well the player did with his passes, Cazorla might have slipped up when taking the all-important penalty against West Brom but he was one of the better players in terms of passing with 113 successful passes in the game and accuracy of 89%, all of which he would love to give away if he could get one more chance to score that spot kick.
