The Special One become the jobless one. According to reports coming from the media, Jose Mourinho was sacked as the Chelsea manager after nine defeats in 16 Premier League games. The Portuguese manager seemed to have lost the plot, the team and the support of some of the fans and of the board.
Mourinho was expected to stay at the club for a long time and retire into the sunset but things don’t always go as planned and Mourinho will be looking for a new job in a few days. Not many clubs will be able to attract the manager that is Mourinho, let us not forget that the Special One has won the league title in every country he has been to and that shows his pedigree in management.
Here are five clubs where Mourinho could well head up at the end of this season.
Real Madrid fans weren’t happy with the signing of Rafa Benitez as their manager and some of the performances have really put the Spanish manager on thin ice. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if he is sacked come the end of the season and Mourinho could well be the one who gets the job, after all he was the only one who broke the monopoly of Barcelona in the league when he was at Real Madrid.
Inter Milan haven’t been the same club since Mourinho left the club. The Portuguese helped Inter win their first ever treble in Italian football and that has brought him a lot of love from the blue half of Milan. Inter might be close to the top of the league at the moment but Mourinho could well do the job for them if he does sign up and return to Italy, where he did have a good time.
While it wouldn’t make for great reading on Mourinho’s CV to replace Pep, this could well be a great option for him. Bayern are a team that no one could destroy and they should win the league with just about anyone taking over the reins. Mourinho could well be the one who could take over from the Spaniard and get Bayern another Champions League victory.
United fans aren’t happy with the way their team is playing and bringing in Mourinho might not solve that but at least he could get to do what Sir Alex wanted him to, replace the Scotsman. United need to get someone new in and that could well be Mourinho. It would ensure that he stays in England and could well be the one who brings the good times back to Manchester, at least the red half.
A return back home wouldn’t be the worst thing for the Portuguese manager. This would bring him back to his roots and that would be a good thing for him, especially being away from the media and glare from the top leagues in the world. Mourinho won the Champions League with Porto all those years ago and who knows maybe he could do something similar this time with the club.
