Top 2 Daniel Sturridge Alternatives For Liverpool

Share

Liverpool have had a great start to the campaign given their aspirations for the title/Champions League Berth is concerned but suddenly the hope might just sway away into oblivion. Although Suarez is tearing apart the Premier League defences this season, Sturridge’s absence might just prove to be a burden for the Uruguayan. The 23 year old Englishman  bagged nine league goals already this term before disaster befell Liverpool. We here at soccersouls decided to scout for Liverpool’s options to replace the injured striker this coming January Transfer window before their hopes blow off into thin air.

Danny Ings (Burnley):

According to the Mirror, Brendan Rodgers has put Burnley goal machine Danny Ings at the top of his Christmas wish-list. The Burnley man who has been excellent for the Championship side has so far grabbed 15 goals in all competitions and is an integral part of England’s Under 21 side led by Gareth Southgate. Liverpool fans will no doubt be hoping their side sign a more experienced, well established name to boost their top four credentials. While Danny Ings might be the one for the future, his inexperience of playing at the top level might just work against him. Will he be the right choice for the Reds? Let’s wait and watch. With Iago Aspas not performing as expected, Rodgers and the Reds would feel that Ings could be more than useful in the business end of the campaign and the youngster having played in England could easily adapt to the Premier League conditions.

Christain Benteke (Aston Villa):

Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke was one of the hottest prospects who was linked to a move away from Villa Park this summer, but the Belgian withdrew his transfer request and committed to the Villans until 2017. The Belgian who has a ferocious right foot, is brilliant on the ball and has superb holding skills adding to his finishing prowess would certainly be one of the best moves Rodgers would perhaps make in the Transfer Window. With Villa languishing in midtable without any realms of hope, Benteke might just jump on the opportunity to test himself on the biggest of clubs in England and would want to prove a point to his crictics who have written him off dubbing him as a one season wonder. Moreover the Belgian would also be in the right frame of mind, given a specific target in front of him, ahead of next year’s showcase World Cup in Sambaland.

Don’t let Luis Suarez leave Anfield:

The biggest reason that Liverpool have been brilliant so far is their strike combination, the SAS partnership of Suarez and Sturridge up front. While its believed that Real Madrid are planning a mega move for the Uruguayan, the Reds must try their heart and soul to keep Suraez at Anfield post the January Transfer Window. Though its easier said than done, any miniscule chance of Suarez leaving would be disaster for Liverpool.  The Uruguayn has that every bit of magic, the quality and the dazzling ability to change any game by the scruff of the neck against any team in the world.
