Two Players the Gunners can offload to raise funds to sign Steven Nzonzi

Arsenal have been busy in the transfer market so far making new additions to bolster the squad. The Gunners have snapped up Juventus right-back Stephan Lichsteiner on a free transfer and Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper Bernd Leno for a reported fee of around £19.3million. The Gunners also recently signed Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Unai Emery is not yet done with his business in the market and the club have now been linked with Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi. The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing the central midfielder in order to fill the voids left by Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla. The midfielder has been impressive for the Spanish outfit after making his move from the Premier League.

He made a total of 26 appearances in the La Liga last season, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. He was not a regular for the French national team but put in excellent shifts whenever he was called from the bench.

Arsenal are going to have to offload one or two of their stars in order to raise the funds for his transfer. The Gunners have already spent a chunk of their budget on transfers.

Here we take a look at two players the Gunners could offload in the summer.

Carl Jenkinson

The 26-year-old has been loaned out to various English clubs over the last few seasons. He enjoyed two successful loan spells with West Ham United in the Premier League. Jenkinson has only been able to muster a total of 38 appearances for the Gunners since his arrival in 2011.

He has not yet been able to nail down a regular role in the Arsenal side and it doesn’t seem as though he could in the near future.

Unai Emery could offload the player this summer instead of opting to loan him out. He is a skilled right-back who is capable of playing for any mid-table side in the Premier League. The full-back was loaned out to Championship side Birmingham City last season where he enjoyed a decent campaign with the club. Unai Emery could raise a considerable amount for his transfer.

Petr Cech

Cech has graced the Premier League with his outstanding performances in goal. The goalkeeper was a stalwart for Chelsea and a commanding presence at the back. Cech was then ousted by Thibaut Courtois, who eventually took his spot at the club.

Arsenal’s new signing Petr Cech has looked off-colour lately

The Gunners completed one of the best coups in landing the veteran goalkeeper and he was impressive for them. But over the last season, Cech showed signs of losing his best form as age began to take its toll.

The Gunners have subsequently signed Bern Leno and there’s a good chance Cech won’t be playing regular football again. Unai Emery could raise a good amount if a club comes calling for his services.
