Time for goodbye? 3 Ideal destinations for Arsenal’s £90,000-a-week star including Wolves

Share

With every passing day, Jack Wilshere’s exit from Arsenal looks increasingly likely. His contract is set to expire at the end of this month and it does not seem like an extension is in the cards. Also, several reports have suggested that the £90,000-a-week player will bid adieu to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Wilshere was one of Arsene Wenger’s most promising talents but a slew of injuries have hampered his growth to a great extent.

Wenger has already left the club and Wilshere’s exit would undoubtedly signify the dawn of a new era with Unai Emery at the helm. A player of his calibre can work wonders for a lot of Premier League teams and with that in mind, here are 3 clubs the Englishman could consider joining this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

The opportunity to play for an exciting side like Wolves should sound enticing for Wilshere. The midfielder is well-renowned for his creative flair and attacking instincts, meaning he should thrive under Nuno Espirito Santo’s set-up at Molineux.

The West Midlands outfit proved all the naysayers wrong by winning the Championship last season and thereby securing an automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Jack Wilshere

Given Santo’s tactics and the club’s financial backing, they could go on to become a force to reckon with. Joining a side like them would not only help revive Wilshere’s career but also boost Wolves’ forces in the centre of the park.

Southampton

Southampton are reportedly edging closer to signing Wilshere. If that is true, it could be an excellent move for the player as well as the club. Granted, the Saints failed to impress last season as they narrowly escaped relegation. But with new manager Mark Hughes at the helm, the Saints could spark a turnaround next season.

Jack Wilshere

To have a creative and technically-gifted midfielder such as Wilshere in their ranks would be great for Southampton. What he lacks for in height, Wilshere makes up for it with his brilliant footwork and pace. Southampton were short of creative services last season, and a move for Wilshere could prove to be beneficial for the Saints.

Crystal Palace

Palace have also been linked with a move for Wilshere. Since Roy Hodgson took charge of the club in September last year, the Eagles have managed to impress. However, going forward they need to have greater ambitions. And to help them achieve those dreams, a player like Wilshere would prove to be resourceful for the London outfit.
