Three Possible Replacements For This Chelsea Superstar If He Sets His Mind To Leave

Share

There are a few clubs in the world who you can never say not to, well unless you have played for their rivals. Not many players make the leap from Real Madrid to Barcelona or from Manchester United to Manchester City or vice versa but when either of these clubs come calling, you are sure that the agent of that player will be salivating at the prospect of getting a fat paycheck out of it. Cue another transfer rumour of Eden Hazard being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Normally these rumours would have been branded as hogwash but the way Chelsea have been playing, players might want to jump the sinking ship before they hit rock bottom, they are 15th in the league at the moment, so the bottom isn’t that far off.

OF course, when one big player moves, it causes a major reshuffle of other players as well. Chelsea would have a ton of cash to spend on an able replacement for Hazard but who could potentially replace the Belgian ace at the club? While Chelsea have had a range of wingers sign for them and fail such as Juan Cuadrado, Mohammed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Marko Marin. We provide a list of players that just could do the job at Chelsea, hopefully.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann

One player who has shone since his transfer to Atletico Madrid has been the French winger Antoine Griezmann. The winger made a big money transfer from Real Sociedad and has become one of the most influential players for Diego Simeone’s men. In his first season at Madrid, he scored 25 goals in 54 games, not the worst scoring record for someone who does not play as a striker.

Griezmann is fast, has great dribbling quality and can play in various positions across the frontline and at just 24-years-old, he could be the potential replacement for Hazard. Plus playing for a team that isn’t always attacking could work in his favour as Chelsea play a more pragmatic game nowadays.

Marco Reus

The 26-year-old German attacker is finally getting his form back under the new manager at Borussia Dortmund. Reus’ last season was filled with niggling injuries and Dortmund fans will hope that he stays fit this season.

So far, he has been on fire under Thomas Tuchel as Dortmund try to chase down eventual Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, come on, we all know that Bayern will win the title and that could be one reason why Reus could move to foreign shores. The German can dribble and run at defences similar to Hazard and also has an eye for goal.

Lorenzo Insigne

There aren’t that many great wingers who could come to Chelsea at the moment, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are out of the question, but this Italian could be the answer to Hazard’s replacement. The 24-year-old winger at Napoli has been a revelation in Serie A and finally seems to be fulfilling his potential.

Insigne might not be the household name that most people would know but he certainly is a talent worth keeping an eye on and if he can do it in Italy; he probably would be a good bet of doing well in England, as long as Chelsea don’t waste the talents of another footballer.
