Three Players Who Are Likely To Leave Chelsea This Coming Summer

Share

We sense the changes that are going to happen in a few months in the team and we already start pondering about the futures of some players. In Chelsea, there are quite a few players who may look to leave the club after the season either permanently or on loan, or else they might choose to finish their career with the Blues. For various reasons there are some players who may leave the club and here are three Chelsea players who have a very high chance of leaving in the summer of 2015.

Didier Drogba: Retirement

The Chelsea legend provided an instant solution for Jose Mourinho as a third choice center forward when he was looking to change his strike force. He is a leader on the pitch and the dressing room. He is 36 years old and understandably he is struggling to be fully fit for regular matches and has to work doubly hard to stay injury free and healthy. At age 37 he would not be given a contract extension at Chelsea and as most would assume, King Didier would hang his boots after an illustrious career and choose to take a break or try his hand in coaching.

Marko Marin: Search for pastures new.

He enjoyed a decent loan spell with Sevilla where he got some much needed playing time to regain his confidence and fitness. But his career at Chelsea doesn’t look too promising. Marin had an injury filled first stint with Chelsea and barely played matches. Now he has to compete with the likes of newer stars like Schurrle, Willian and the youngsters out on loan, who’ll be coming back, such as Lucas Piazon or Thorgan Hazard. Marin is still in the prime moment of a footballer’s career which is why he would like to look for a move to a club where he would get a main role in the starting line-up.

Gael Kakuta: Settle for a permanent move elsewhere

Kakuta has been on loan for quite some time but there doesn’t seem to be any strong news or interest on him by Chelsea as the Blues are busy acquiring high profile players or better young talents like Thorgan Hazard and Piazon. Kakuta may have to be a perennial bench player playing some league cup matches or worse as there are players like Salah who aren’t getting regular gametime, yet will be joined by other on loan players in the coming season. Kakuta is a decent player and could do well for a mid-table Premier League team or its equivalent in some other league.
