Three players Crystal Palace must loan out this summer

Crystal Palace are looking to offload a few players before the end of August, according to Daily Mail.

The Eagles managed to avoid relegation last season, thanks to Roy Hodgson’s much-needed guidance. With Premier League sides looking to condense their squads before the European window ends, the south Londoners must also offload a couple of players.

So, here are three players Hodgson must loan out this summer.

  1. Jason Puncheon

Crystal Palace must loan out Jason Puncheon as he has not played since suffering cruciate ligament damage in January.

The creative midfielder played only 12 times last season and doesn’t appear to have a future at Selhurst Park at this juncture. In fact, Puncheon did not make the matchday squad for Palace’s first two Premier League games of the new season.

The 32-year-old, who scored for Palace in the 2016 FA Cup Final, returned to training in May and should leave Selhurst Park to revive his career this summer.

  1. Jonny Williams

Jonny Williams has been hit by recurrent injuries that have frequently halted his once-promising career. The 24-year-old spent the last season on loan at Sunderland but could make only 12 appearances as he endured another injury-troubled campaign.

Williams hasn’t made a single appearance for Palace since the 2015/16 season and it doesn’t look like he has a future under Hodgson. Keeping that in mind, he must leave the Eagles this summer for a Championship outfit.

If the Wales international can stay fit, he could be a quality player since he has the ability to break down a well-organized defensive unit with his creativity and flair.

  1. Jairo Riedewald

Jairo Riedewald is one of the top talents to have emerged from the Ajax youth academy but things have not panned out well since he moved to Palace last summer, coming in as Frank de Boer’s recruit.

Riedewald has found his opportunities severely limited since the former manager was sacked and replaced with Roy Hodgson. The versatile star is out-of-favour at Crystal Palace and at 21 years of age, the Dutchman has a lot of potential to make a fresh start.

So, a temporary move away from Selhurst Park before the end of the month would be the ideal way to reboot his career.
