Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been one of the only bright lights in their horrific return to the Premier League, with the Serbian having a ball in the Premier League.
He’s scored 10 goals in 30 appearances in the Premier League alone, which is 35% of the goals the Cottagers have scored this season. However, the 24-year-old was linked with a move to China during the winter window (Sun) and has been linked with a move once again.
ESPN (h/t Teamtalk) has linked the Fulham star with a move to China. It further adds that Mitrovic has been valued at around £50million.
That being said, with Fulham the favourites to get relegated, the club needs to start preparing for a future without their best stars.
With Mitrovic linked with a move away, here are three players the Cottagers must target:
Out of contract in the summer, the 30-year-old is a lot older than Aleksandar Mitrovic, but at the same time, he would be the perfect replacement. While Kruse doesn’t score as many goals as the Serbian, what he does do well is contribute to the build-up play.
This season alone, the German has 11 assists to add to his 7 goals, which is far more than what Mitrovic has produced. If Fulham do get relegated, they’ll need a classy center-forward to help them return to the Premier League and Max Kruse as a free agent would be a good move.
It will allow the Cottagers to use their money elsewhere to strengthen key positions and the German’s consistent record in front of goal is just an added bonus.
A revelation this season, Adams has had a superb breakout season in the Championship, scoring 21 goals in 36 appearances for Birmingham City. His form has been crucial to any hopes the club has of making a playoff spot, and it’s exactly what Fulham need.
The Cottagers have missed a consistent goalscorer this season and for all his abilities, Mitrovic has struggled in this aspect. That being said, it is the first time that Adams has hit double figures in his career but he is only 22 years old and will improve further with time.
However, while Birmingham City do have a transfer embargo, a high enough price of somewhere around £15million (Sky Sports) or so, will convince them to sell.
His struggles in the Premier League this season after his big money to Burnley has been evident. This combined with a few other issues have led to Burnley’s downfall, and this is why the club are fighting a relegation scrap at the moment.
However, that being said, Vydra still remains a good striker and one that has flourished in the lower leagues. His final season with Derby County saw the 26-year-old finish with 21 goals and 4 assists, his career best since his first season with Watford.

The Czech international finished that season with 20 goals and 8 assists, flourishing as their main forward. However, for Fulham, what does make him an exciting buy is that Vydra uses his pace and agility to terrorise defenders.
