Three Players Chelsea Should Loan Out Next Season For More Playing Time/Wage Reduction

Share

With a whole host of players who were loaned out by Chelsea at the beginning of last season coming back at the start of the new season, Jose Mourinho finds the unique problem of having to loan some of the players in a bid to free wages and of course to give the player the necessary experience. While publicly Jose Mourinho has moaned about the lack of attacking quality and squad depth this season and he will probably use some of the players returning from their loan spells and chances are that most will not be utilized and some of these players will even be sold if the right offer comes Chelsea’s way. We at Soccersouls take a look at the three players Chelsea can look to loan out next season.

Thorgan Hazard:

The younger brother of Eden Hazard was on loan at Zulte Waregem this season but come next season he will be a Chelsea player. While there is no doubting Thorgan Hazard’s talent he is still not ready for first team action at Chelsea. With the huge talent he possesses the chances of both Hazard brothers playing in tandem at Chelsea in the future is not an impossibility at all. At the moment, however Chelsea needs to send him on loan to a Premier League club where he gets regular football so that he understands the physical rigors of the league.

Thorgan has scored 17 and has assisted 20 more this season at Waregem which has attracted interests from Spanish side Valencia and Premier League clubs Everton and Liverpool. Whichever club that Jose Mourinho decide to loan him, it is definitely a path towards his next big step.

Marco Van Ginkel:

Another player like Thorgan Hazard who possesses all the talent in the world. While there is a good chance that Chelsea might not loan out Van Ginkel and instead keep him in the squad as a utility player given how he can play in a number of midfield positions the wise thing will be to probably loan him out to another Premier League club. Just like Thorgan Hazard, he needs the experience of playing in a Premier League club and what better way of getting it than on loan to one of the newly promoted sides.

Starting out as an attacking player, MVG has matured into a more defensively oriented player. With the talents that he possesses, often drawing comparisons with club legend Frank Lampard and his England colleague Steven Gerrard, he deserves a regular spot in the starting line-up and using him as a squad player might hinder his progress. One more season on loan and this time with a Premier League club might prove to be a win win situation for both the club and the player.

Demba Ba:

With Chelsea pipped to strengthening their strike force next season it is apparent that Demba Ba does not really figure high on Jose Mourinho’s plans. While the best solution for Chelsea would be to sell the Senegalese to another club, preferably not a Premier League rival, the reality is that his high wages might prove to be a stumbling block. With no club likely to pay Demba Ba, the wages he is currently on at Chelsea perhaps the best solution for all parties here is to loan the player to another club for the next season. After all, at the new club Demba Ba will get some guaranteed football while Chelsea will be able to get his wages off the books.
