Watford have been a surprise package in the Premier League this season. The Hornets are eighth on the table, just two points adrift of seventh-placed Wolves and are very much in the running for achieving a Europa League spot.
Javi Gracia has worked really hard behind the scenes and the results are a piece of evidence. The Spaniard deserves credit for it but there’s still a long way to go and Watford have to keep getting positive results if they are to play in Europe next season.
One of the Watford players to catch the eye this season is Roberto Pereyra. Pereyra has enjoyed vast success down the left-hand side this season, scoring some spectacular goals on the way. The Argentine has contributed with six goals and two assists in all competitions this term.
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with Pereyra’s agent confirming in January that Chelsea were very much interested in signing him.
Come summer, Pereyra is expected to attract a lot of interest again and Watford would be wise to cash in on their 28-year-old star attacker. With the money they get from his sale, Gracia must invest on reinforcing other areas of the pitch plus signing Swansea City outcast Luciano Narsingh.
Luciano Narsingh, 28, has managed just one appearance for Swansea all season as he has failed to get into Graham Potter’s plans. Narsingh has been completely out of favour under Potter as Swansea tried to offload him in January to trim their wage bill. However, the Dutchman failed to get any buyers and is still a part of the Welsh outfit.
It’s crystal clear that the Dutchman has no future at the Liberty Stadium and should leave the club in summer to reignite his career. Watford should bring in the 28-year-old to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Narsingh is a speed bullet, known for his silky dribbling skills and smart movement in the final third. He is a right winger by trade but is equally adept at playing on the left or through the middle.
The Netherlands international is difficult to stop on his day and a tricky in 1v1 situations. He has exceptional close control in tight areas, whilst also uses his poaching instincts to get into the box to score goals.
Due to inconsistency and a series of injuries, Narsingh hasn’t been able to showcase his true colours in England since joining Swansea from PSV Eindhoven in 2017.
