Liverpool and Arsenal are the only Premier League clubs to have won their opening two games this season.
Both clubs have had to fight hard for their wins, and this is an early chance for one of them to create a bit of a gap from the chasing pack.
Liverpool are coming off a hard–fought 2-1 win over Southampton at St Mary’s, while Arsenal won by the same scoreline against Burnley.
The Reds have had the better of the results when facing the Gunners at home in recent seasons, but Arsenal have spent big to strengthen their team in the summer.
Both teams have great attacks and here are three key battles that could decide where the three points go.
Roberto Firmino scored in the win over Southampton and the Brazilian worked his socks off for the team.
The Brazilian scored a hat-trick in this fixture last season but will face a sterner test up against countryman David Luiz.
The former Chelsea star started against Burnley, and his passing from the back could cause Liverpool’s back-line problems.
Luiz also has to be careful of the pressing machine that is Firmino, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top of this duel.
The Liverpool midfielder didn’t start against Southampton but came off the bench in the second half.
Fabinho’s midfield control is key to Liverpool dominating the opposition and cutting off their attacks, but the Brazilian will face one of the most impressive signings in the summer.
Dani Ceballos helped create both goals in the win over Burnley, and the on-loan Arsenal midfielder could cause loads of problems to Liverpool’s defence.
Fabinho has to shut Ceballos from the first minute but the Spaniard could have a trick up his sleeve to get the better of Liverpool’s destroyer.
Andy Robertson could be the best left-back in the Premier League. He is great at defending but his attacking runs cause headaches to the opposition.
However, the Scot could face one of the best attackers in the Premier League on Saturday. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winner against Burnley, and the Gabon striker could continue playing down the right.
Aubameyang was one of the top scorers in the Premier League last season, and Robertson has to keep him in check while doing his bit to help out Liverpool’s attack.
