Round 5 of the Capital One Cup kicks off tonight with Sunderland taking on Chelsea at the Stadium of Light in the pick of the evening’s matches.
Having edged out Arsenal 2-0 in Round 4, Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea will be aiming to continue their strong form in the tournament and record another win against Sunderland who they beat 4-3 earlier in the season.
However Sunderland manager Gus Poyet will be buoyed by his side’s performances so far in the Capital One Cup. In Round 4 Poyet’s men knocked out a strong Southampton outfit and will be relishing tonight’s match up with Chelsea.
So here are the possible starting XI for both the teams:
Sunderland: Mannone, Dossena, Brown, O’shea, Celustka, Cattermole, Ki, Johnson, Giaccherini, Larsson, Altidore.
Chelsea: Schwarzer, Cole, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Luiz, Lampard, Mikel, Willian, Mata, De Bruyne, Eto’o
Elsewhere this evening Manchester City visit Championship side Leicester at the King Power Stadium. City’s route to Round 5 has involved wins against Newcastle and Wigan, but they will not be underestimating the Foxes. The home side grabbed a thrilling 4-3 victory against Fulham, a signal of their intentions in the competition.
