Sturridge To Lead The Line – Strongest 4-3-3 Liverpool Line-up To Face Newcastle In The PL

Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

Jurgen Klopp was not a happy man as his Liverpool side managed to take just a point from their trip to Moscow in the Champions League group stage. They are however, fresh from a 3-2 victory over Leicester City last weekend and will travel to the St James’ Park with decent confidence under their belt, for their next league game on Sunday.

The Magpies won three games in a row but were halted by Brighton last weekend. They will look to bounce back but will not find it easy against an exciting Liverpool side.

Team News

In early team news, Liverpool are still without the services of Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne, both of who are long-term absentees. They remain the only injury concerns ahead of this tie#.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

GK – Simon Mignolet

With Karius not showing enough confidence, Mignolet should start as the No.1, despite his mistake in the previous game against Leicester.

RB – Joe Gomez

Though Alexander Arnold was decent in the mid-week fixture, Klopp has used Gomez to decent effect and should stick with him at right-back.

Joe Gomez

CB – Joel Matip

A solid performance in Russia should give Matip enough confidence to help his side to a clean sheet against the Magpies.

CB – Dejan Lovren

The Croatian did not have much to do in the game against Spartak and will hope to have a similar time this weekend as well.

LB – Andrew Robertson

Though Moreno has been excellent this season, Klopp needs to use Robertson on a more regular basis and this game against Newcastle could be the right time for him to use the Scot.

CDM – Emre Can

Skipper Jordan Henderson was immense in the last two fixtures against Spartak and Leicester but he should be rested, allowing Emre Can to play in a deep midfield role in this tie.

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutch international has not been effective as expected this season but at St. James’ Park, he might be the man to help Liverpool to a victory against his former side.

CM – Philippe Coutinho

Easily the best player for Liverpool in the mid-week game, Coutinho looks to have found his form coming back from an injury and should start against Palace in the midfield.

Sadio Mane

RW – Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian pace-merchant failed to convert most of the chances that fell on his way in Russia and will hope to make amends this weekend.

LW – Sadio Mane

Coming back from a 3-game domestic suspension, Mane will be charged up and could be the man to watch out for in this tie.

ST – Daniel Sturridge

With Roberto Firmino looking out of sorts, it could be the perfect time for Jurgen Klopp to give Sturridge his second league start of the season.

Here is how Liverpool might line up:
