Sturridge Out, Falcao Transfer Hits A Dent – Chelsea In Turmoil

Share

It has been a week of changes and frustrations for the Blues and its fans with the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo and the arrival of former Liverpool and Inter boss Rafa Benitez ad-mist of all concern from their fans. As far as the players are concerned, none of the big guns have come out with their opinion on the sacking of their manager. And its left to the fans to decide whether to hate or love their club owner Roman Abramovic.

Sturridge

Meanwhile Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge who has just one league start to his name this season will be looking to move out of Stamford Bridge by all possible means. The Striker is heavily linked with Merseyside club Liverpool for the past few months and it is now reported that the clubs have come together to discuss about the future of Sturridge.

Sturridge who started out brilliantly under former boss AVB, lost his way under the reign of Di Matteo and Liverpool boss who is a former youth coach of Sturridge can re unite with him again if the transfer does go through. Brendan Rodgers have always liked it when it comes to youngster as the manger have already signed Borini and Allen whom he worked with in their youth days. It is inevitable that Sturridge will leave Chelsea and the only question remains that whether it is in January or at the end of the season.

Falcao

Regarding the transfer of long term target Falcao, there has been a serious dent in their ambitions to sign their Colombian target as Atletico’s president has Enrique Cerezo is confident the player will remain at the Vicente Calderon Stadium until the end of his current contract.

“He says he is content and happy here and we are pleased and happy with him. There are so many rumors about Falcao but that does not bother me because he has a contract and is happy,” Cerezo told reporters, according to ESPN. It is all the same to us and he will fulfill his contract.”

Torres

It leaves Chelsea and its fans with only one option – Fernando Torres. The Spaniard will be down and out with his poor run of games and to the fact that he lost his starting berth in the line-up that potentially has only one striker. However with the appointment of his former boss Benitez under whom he flourished as a out and out stiker, the Spaniard could look forward to some revival. Rafa Benitez used Torres as a target man for Liverpool with Gerrard playing in a more advanced role providing balls for Torres. Chelsea has Oscar to play in the exact role Gerrard played. It is all upto Benitez and the tactics he uses with the new set of players and after all Chelsea has a world class squad with the exception of one good striker.
