Strongest Possible Manchester United XI Featuring Anthony Martial in the team

The big money signing might have taken place at Manchester United and it covered one of the most important positions at the club, that of the striker but it just didn’t turn out to be the player than most Manchester United supporters might have thought it to be.

United splurged £36 million on the signing of 19-year-old Anthony Martial from Monaco and while the player does possess a lot of talent, he still hasn’t really done a lot to justify that price tag, but then again some people are comparing this signing to that of Wayne Rooney’s almost a decade ago, Rooney though was a player who had spent a couple of years learning Premier League football at Everton.

Anthony Martial

Either way, United has spent the money on the youngster and he will get a chance sooner or later, with United’s management hoping that Martial can make a similar impact to that of Rooney’s. We look ahead at the chances the youngster might get while playing at United and predict the strongest lineup that Manchester United could have if he does play in the first team

Pace and power up front

David de Gea would remain the goalkeeper for now, there really is no one better than him in England probably and even though he hasn’t played this season, he should get to start for the club in the games till the end of the season. The fullback positions would be taken up by two players who are at the top of their games. Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian have been brilliant for United down either side of the defence and cannot be dropped no matter what.

The centre of defence is a tricky part to decide for Manchester United. They should play with Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo but Chris Smalling could also stake a claim to one of the positions, but playing Daley Blind in defence is not the answer to that problem. The midfield should see the pair of Morgan Schneiderlin and Michael Carrick playing together while Morgan can clean up and shore up the midfield and defence and Carrick can provide those through balls to the attackers.

Memphis Depay

The wings have to be played with Memphis Depay on one side and Juan Mata on the other, Mata might not be an out and out winger but he can do the job there. While Rooney should play right behind Martial as the youngster leads the attack. Martial’s pace should be a handful for most of the defenders in the league and Rooney playing behind him can provide a lot of support and get scoring again this season.
