Strongest Possible Liverpool XI To Face Crystal Palace: Benteke to Start; Coutinho Doubtful

After registering three successive wins under their new manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool will host Crystal Palace and will look to carry on their unbeaten run under Klopp. How will the Reds line-up to face Palace? Here is their likely line-up.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

Belgian International Simon Mignolet has impressed Jurgen Klopp and he will be the Reds’ goalkeeper for the clash against Palace.

Defenders: Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Alberto Moreno

Martin Skrtel is set to return to the XI after he was rested for the Europa League match against Rubin Kazan on Thursday and will partner Mamadou Sakho in the central defence. This means Dejan Lovren will miss out from the XI against Palace. New signing Nathaniel Clyne will play as the right-back while Spanish defender Alberto Moreno will play on the left.

Midfielders: James Milner, Emre Can, Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana

German star Emre Can won’t be playing in the defence like he did under Brendan Rodgers, but he will be Liverpool’s holding midfielder alongside England’s James Milner and Brazilian Lucas Leiva, who is on a terrific form since the arrival of Klopp. In the absence of Jordan Henderson, Milner will captain the side. Philippe Coutinho is doubful courtesy a minor hamstring problem. If Coutinho, who scored a brace against Chelsea last weekend is ruled out of the game, then his fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino will start in is place alongside Adam Lallana. Jordon Ibe, who scored the winner against Rubin Kazan will miss out from Liverpool’s playing XI.

Forward: Christian Benteke

Daniel Sturridge is two weeks away from getting fit and in his absence, Belgian forward Christian Benteke will start against of Palace after he was used as a substitute in the Chelsea game. Benteke is expected to give some hard time for the struggling Palace defence.
