Strongest Liverpool Lineup To Face Arsenal: The Enigmatic Brazilian Needs To Show His Worth

Share

Projected Liverpool XI vs Arsenal

Jurgen Klopp would be hoping for a miracle as Liverpool host Arsenal in a tough tie in the Premier League. The Reds had to play against Exeter in the FA Cup and were lucky to come out unscathed with a 2-2 draw, playing many youngsters due to a wretched time with injuries.

Arsenal would be coming in fine form and would start the game as favourites as they are on top of the league and seem to be hungry for Premier League success, a win over their opponents away would certainly cement their position as the team to beat for the crown.

Liverpool would be expecting a few first-teamers to return with Mamadou Sakho in line to partner Kolo Toure in the heart of the defence. Even with a large number of injuries, Liverpool should be able to put out a decent squad, though the team would need some divine intervention if they are to beat Arsenal.

Here is the predicted lineup for the Reds.

Simon Mignolet

The Belgian international is the number one choice for Liverpool and should get his place back in the XI after missing out against Exeter.

Nathaniel Clyne

The right-back was rested against Exeter and should play against Arsenal.

Kolo Toure

Kolo Toure seemed to have picked up an injury but he should be fit to start in the heart of defence with Lovren and Skrtel missing out due to hamstring related issues.

Mamadou Sakho

Sakho is the major doubt for Liverpool, if he is fit he will start else it could be Ilori or Lucas partnering Toure.

Alberto Moreno

The Spaniard was another player who was rested by Klopp and should take his place in the XI against Arsenal.

Lucas Leiva

Leiva might have been surplus to requirements at one stage but with the number of injuries Liverpool have, he should start for the Reds.

Emre Can

Can was another player rested in the FA Cup tie and he will play a crucial role if he is to keep Arsenal quiet in the game.

Joe Allen

The Welsh midfielder might not be the first choice at Liverpool but he will have to play his socks off if the club are to get anything from this game. Henderson might be fit for the game but he probably wouldn’t start the game for the Reds.

Roberto Firmino

Firmino is an enigma; the Brazilian looked brilliant against Manchester City but hasn’t sparkled since and needs to show that he is worth every penny that Liverpool stumped for him.

Adam Lallana

The English attacker has been one of the most improved players under Klopp and should get his place in the starting XI against the Gunners.

Christian Benteke

The Big Belgian will have to be at his best as Liverpool would be counting on him to get the goals and puncture Arsenal’s title hopes.
