Strongest Chelsea Lineup To Face Norwich: Star Returns, Terry & Schwarzer To Start

After a heart-breaking defeat in the champions league,  A Premier League title is the only possible silverware Chelsea can win this season. Chelsea host a struggling Norwich City at home in a match in which anything less than 3 points will be a huge disappointment for the home side.

Injury News

John Terry, Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o are all available for selection. Petr Cech resumed training after  a shoulder injury, but his participation is still a doubt.

Let’s see the options available for Mourinho to field a strong lineup against the men in yellow.

Goal Keeper And Defence

GK – Mark Schwarzer

Mark Schwarzer will take up the gloves in the absence of  Petr Cech. Former Fulham man has done well in recent games and will look to continue that way against Norwich too.

RB – Branislav Ivanovic

Ivanovic will start as right back and will look to make his trademark overlapping runs in the wings. His aerial strength will help the home side in defending set pieces too.

CB – Gary Cahill

Probably Chelsea’s player of the season (along with Hazard). The English star will look to keep things tidy and disciplined at the back.

CB – John Terry

John Terry will lead the defence and Norwich strikers may have a lonely day at office, such is the form of Terry-Cahill partnership.

LB – Cesar Azpilicueta

Azpilicueta will take back his left-back position from Ashley Cole.

RM – Willian

Willian will start in the right wing. His pace will be very crucial in organizing Chelsea’s counter attacks. The Brazilian has good workrate and will trackback and help defense too.

DM – Nemanja Matic

This is the guy who Chelsea missed dearly in the Champions league. He will take up his usual Enforcer role and will also play make from deep.

CM – Frank Lampard

Ramires’ poor showing in recent games means, Jose may again start Lampard along with Matic. But, Lampard may not have the legs to play full 90 mins and may get substituted in the second half.

AM – Oscar

Another player who has improved a lot this season. He will take up his favorite no 10 role, just behind the striker.

LM – Eden Hazard

Talented Belgian will start from left wing. Chelsea fans will hope that his injury issues will not affect his performances on the pitch. Norwich defenders are up for a tough day as they have to figure out a plan to deal with Hazard’s poetic dribbling skills.

ST – Fernando Torres

Striking department is the biggest concern for Mourinho. Many top strikers are currently linked with the blues, but right now Fernando Torres is still the best available option and will spear-head the Chelsea attack against the visitors.
