Let’s cut right to the chase: PSG and Uruguayan star Edinson Cavani’s agent Claudio Anellucci has confirmed that he has received transfer bids from Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool.
“A lot of people have shown interest in Edinson this month, and I can assure you that I’ve already listened to offers from Liverpool and Arsenal.”
“My player’s already said that he wants to play in England, but he hasn’t taken a definitive decision yet. He has no interest in money or fame, he just wants to play football.” is what Anellucci had to say about his agent’s situation according to todomercadoweb.
There have been rumours about Cavani’s interests in playing in the Premier League in the past month or so as he is frustrated to have been playing as a side kick to Zlatan Ibrahimović at Parc De Princes and wants some regular football.
The news is certainly encouraging for Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers, who are yet to adequately replace Luis Suarez and signing his International team mate will go in a long way to doing exactly that. However, it is fascinating to hear that Arsene Wenger has tried to sign Cavani after landing Alexis Sanchez and bringing back Joel Campbell from loan.
