Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Stoke City have completed their fourth signing of the summer, after they signed winger Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on a three-year contract after his contract with German club FC Schalke 04 expired(BBC Sport).
The 28-year old becomes the fourth arrival at the Bet365 Stadium this summer, following the signing of veteran midfielder Darren Fletcher, left-back Josh Tymon and defender Kurt Zouma (on loan).
The experienced winger has played over 200 games in the German Bundesliga with Hamburger SV, Mainz and Schalke, in which he has scored 45 goals. Choupo-Moting has also represented the Cameroon national team on 42 occasions, finding the back of the net 13 times. Speaking after his arrival, the new signing said (as quoted by Stoke Sentinel):
“I am just so happy to join the Stoke City family and have this opportunity to play in the English Premier League for the first time. It has always been a goal of mine to one day come over to England and play here. I am sure that every player in the world would like to one day come here.
“The Bundesliga is a great competition too, but the Premier League is really special and I can’t wait to play against all of those teams as a Stoke City player.”
