Star Duo Returns: Strongest 4-4-2 Burnley Line-Up To Face Bournemouth

Burnley

Predicted Burnley Lineup To Face Bournemouth

Burnley will clash against former manager Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth on Saturday in the Premier League, at the Vitality Stadium.

Sean Dyche’s men occupy 14th place in the league table and have secured Premier League football for another season. They come into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion last week and will be hoping for a win on Saturday, that would take them closer to the top half of the standings. The match ended in a 3-2 win for the Clarets, the last time when the two teams clashed.

Team News

Star defender Michael Keane missed out last week against the Baggies due to a calf problem but is expected to be available for Saturday’s encounter. Dean Marney is the only other absentee due to injury, while Joey Barton is suspended.

Probable Burnley Starting XI:

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Sean Dyche

Tom Heaton (GK)

The captain has had a great season between the sticks and has been one of the better goalkeepers in the Premier League. Another start on the cards.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

The 27-year old has been very good in the last few games for the Clarets. Has looked solid defensively and decent going forward as well. Will look to continue in the same fashion on Saturday.

Michael Keane (CB)

The recently capped England international missed out last weekend due to a knock. Should be available for this game and expect him to start.

Ben Mee (CB)

Another defender who has missed the last few games, the 27-year old has had a great season and will look to return to the fold against the Cherries.

Stephen Ward (CB)

A constant fixture in the line-up over the course of the ongoing campaign, Stephen Ward will once again start the game on Saturday.

George Boyd (RM)

The Scottish international has been an excellent worker for the team, even if he doesn’t contribute with a lot of goals and assists. He will keep his place on the right-flank.

Ashley Westwood (CM)

The former Aston Villa midfielder has struggled for game time since joining the Clarets in January. But he has started the last two games since Joey Barton’s suspension and expect him to retain his spot in midfield.

Jeff Hendrick (CM)

The Irish international has been a good addition to the squad and has impressed in his first season in the Premier League. He will partner Westwood in the middle of the park.

Scott Arfield (LM)

The 28-year old has been quite good in recent weeks. His crosses into the box from the left-hand side are a constant threat to the opposition. Will start ahead of Robbie Brady.

Ashley Barnes (CF)

Uses his body well up front to cause problems to the opposition by holding up the ball. He is a key cog in the Burnley setup and will start against Bournemouth.

Sam Vokes (ST)

The saviour of Burnley last week, the Welshman scored both their goals against West Brom. Hard to see him getting dropped to the bench after a strong showing.
