Carroll Out, Calleri In – Strongest 3-4-3 West Ham Lineup To Face Liverpool

West Ham United

Predicted West Ham United Lineup To Face Liverpool

Slaven Bilic’s West Ham have been inconsistent this season but they produced their best performance this campaign in front of a packed London stadium against their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, derailing their title hopes. They will be full of confidence after picking up all three points in the previous round and will hope to repeat the same when they face Liverpool this weekend.

The Reds have traditionally struggled against Bilic’s side in recent times and if their draw against Southampton is anything to go by, this game is far from a straightforward one for Klopp’s side. The Hammers can finish in the top half of the table if they continue to pick points up.

Team News

In early team news, Bilic will still be without the likes of Angelo Ogbonna and Pedro Obiang, both of who are ruled out for the rest of the season. While Chiekhou Kouyate’s wrist injury rules him out for the rest of the season, striker Andy Carroll is not too far away from a first team return. Arthur Masuaku may be back in action for this tie.

Probable West Ham United XI:

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Slaven Bilic

GK – Adrian

Adrian seems to have found a way back into the plans for Slaven Bilic this season and is expected to replace Darren Randolph in between the sticks.

CB – Jose Fonte

The former Southampton man has revealed that he is ready to derail Liverpool’s UCL hopes and he will be up against the likes of Coutinho and Firmino in this tie.

CB – Winston Reid

The veteran defender for West Ham, Reid has been solid of late and should start at the heart of the West Ham defence.

CB – James Collins

Doing a great job in the absence of first-choice players, Collins has done no harm to his place in the squad and should start this game.

RM – Sam Byram

The youngster has done a decent job so far in an injury-plagued season for West Ham and should be up against the Brazilian magician from Liverpool on the wing.

CM – Mark Noble

Though not at his best recently, Noble is the first-choice midfielder for Bilic this season and he will hope to put in a strong performance against a fluid Jurgen Klopp’s side.

CM – Havard Nordtveit

With Kouyate now injured Nordtveit should deputise for him in the midfield and should partner Mark Noble at the middle of the park for West Ham.

LM – Aaron Cresswell

The English full-back missed a few games recently with an injury but is back now and will be raring to take on a Liverpool side that is struggling to break teams down at the moment.

RW – Manuel Lanzini

The hero for Hammers in the victory over Spurs, Lanzini will yet again be the danger man and will hope to put pressure on a fragile Liverpool defence.

LW – Andre Ayew

The versatile attacker can play a floating role in this game but he should start on the left wing.

ST – Jonathan Calleri

Though Carroll is expected to be fit for this game, Bilic should stick with Calleri who did a decent job recently against Tottenham.

This is how West Ham United could line up:
