‘Simpson and King were shit and Slimani looked like he couldn’t give a fuck’ – Twitter Reacts To Leicester’s Draw With Huddersfield + Player Ratings

Jamie Vardy equalised for Leicester just 4 minutes after Huddersfield had taken the lead

Match Report: Huddersfield Town 1-1 Leicester City

Leicester City failed to capitalise on a chance to take all three points from a newly promoted Huddersfield Town side this weekend. Belgian star Laurent Depoitre scored on his Premier League debut for the Terriers but English star Jamie Vardy did not let the party go on for too long as he converted from the spot, just four minutes after the home side took the lead.

The Foxes will not be happy with a point but will look to build on from this result. Here’s how the Leicester players fared on the day.

Leicester Player Ratings

Kasper Schmeichel (6)

Was not really tested regularly enough to be under pressure on a rather comfortable night for the shot-stopper.

Danny Simpson (7)

Stuck to his task well on the flank, helping his side at both ends of the field, showing great energy.

Wes Morgan (6)

The likes of Depoitre were a constant nuisance to the defender but he did well to keep the scoring to just one goal.

Harry Maguire (6)

Was partly at fault for Huddersfield’s goal but was generally a solid presence at the back, winning most of the balls thrown at him in the box.

Ben Chilwell (6)

Should have done a lot better to close the home side’s attacks from the flank but was not made to pay on the night.

Riyad Mahrez (7)

Made a slow start to the game but slowly grew into it to trouble Huddersfield consistently late in the game.

Wilfred Ndidi (5)

Failed to control the tempo of the game and often lost possession of the ball on a less than comfortable display by the midfielder.

Andy King (6)

Worked really hard to create chances and keep Huddersfield at bay. Won the penalty that restored parity in the 50th minute of the game.

Marc Albrighton (5)

Struggled to have the impact that was expected of him and has to do a lot better for his side to register some victories.

Kelechi Iheanacho (6)

Was not up to the task as he had a couple of chances that he should have converted. But will learn with more game time.

Jamie Vardy (7)

The man of the match for the visitors, Vardy was his industrious self, hustling the Terriers’ backline and also scoring the only goal for Leicester.

Subs:

Demarai Gray (6)

Showed his pace and trickery on the wing but did not do enough to win his side the game.

Shinji Okazaki (6)

Was a nuisance to the Huddersfield backline in the second half but like Gray, he failed to create or take chances to steal all three points.

Islam Slimani (5)

Came too late into the game to have any real kind of impact.
