Matteo Darmian
Darmian was actually having a great performance under former boss Louis Van Gaal, but the constant injury issues left him on the side lines and the Italian had to watch Antonio Valencia taking his berth straight away. He even failed to convince Jose Mourinho during the preseason and he even failed to grab the first team spot, as Fosu-Mensah was selected ahead of him in a couple of games.
That situation made everybody think Darmian was on his way out, but Valencia’s injury has reopened the door for the Italian to have a spot in the team. Matteo is a pretty decent player and he has responded well to the occasion so far, but he’ll need to do a lot better if he wants to remain a Red Devil for the foreseeable future.
Marouane Fellaini
The Belgian was one of Mourinho’s favourites and one of the chosen players for the starting job in the center of the field. However, the talented midfielder has been completely awful for most of the season and if it wasn’t for Ander Herrera, Manchester United would be in an even worst situation.
Fellaini has been completely out of rhythm and sync with his teammates and given how crowded Manchester United’s midfield is right now, he’d better get anything going if he doesn’t want to be tossed and sent to the bench.
