Everton Opinion: Spanish prodigy Cristo can reignite his career at Everton

Everton’s spending at the start of the current season came as a huge motivation as it was seen as a sign of progress. Some of the additions were extremely shrewd and thought-out pieces of business.

The relationship they have now created with Spanish club Barcelona by signing three of their players in the summer will aid them in the long run. Anyone who is looking for a change of atmosphere at Barcelona could automatically become a Toffees target.

The additions of Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina have both been excellent moves. While the latter has been in the team rather inconsistently due to injury and other factors, the former has become a vital member of Marco Silva’s attacking setup.

Also, the loan signing of Portuguese midfield sensation Andre Gomes has also helped the Merseyside club toughen up in the midfield. His movement and sharpness have come in quite handy at times and he did score an exceptional goal as well.

Everton’s current league position is mostly down to their alarming dependence on Brazilian youngster Richarlison to deliver all the goals. Despite the presence of a player like Cenk Tosun, they have struggled to get the goals flowing right from the start of the season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another option up front for Marco Silva but he has come up short on multiple occasions as well, highlighting the massive attacking inconsistency that has engulfed the Toffees’ strikers.

Dipping into the transfer market is the only solution to this problem and in the process, they can also think about striking up a similar relationship with Barcelona’s eternal rivals Real Madrid by making a move for Castilla product Cristo.

The Spanish forward came through the youth academy at Spanish minnows Tenerife before he was eventually scouted and signed by Real Madrid Castilla in 2017 as a 19-year-old. Now 21, his skills on the ball have certainly improved and he does seem like a good fit for Premier League football.

His movement and sharpness on the ball are excellent while his ability to read the mind of the midfield passer helps him make extremely smart runs. He is quick on the ball and is an expert at beating the offside trap using his youthful pace.

His finishing is another one of his amazing attributes and his numbers in the Spanish reserve league this season are certainly a testament to that. He has scored 12 goals and assisted 9 in his 25 appearances for RM Castilla.

He made his professional debut for Real Madrid during a Copa Del Rey tie, a game in which the Spaniard scored. He later replaced Karim Benzema at halftime in a La Liga game against Real Betis.

At 21, he still has time to grow and given his skill-set, Goodison Park would be the perfect destination for the youngster.
