Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri was denied a victory against his old club Leicester City in a tight but well-contested Premier League game at Craven Cottage. Aboubakar Kamara scored three minutes before the break to give the home side a priceless lead.
The French forward, who hadn’t scored a goal since January 2, latched onto Aleksandar Mitrovic’s flick on, exploiting the mistake from Foxes centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, to drive the shot past Kasper Schmeichel.
Just as when it looked like the Cottagers were going to get a victory, James Maddison swept in an equaliser 16 minutes from time. Shinji Okazaki supplied the assist with a good cross from the right.
The visitors had enough chances in the opening exchanges of the game and deserved at least a point from the game. In the absence of Jamie Vardy, Maddison was at the heart of everything that Leicester did in the final third. He had a great chance to win the game late on, but he latched onto that effort.
On the other hand, Fulham had 25 attempts on goal, seven on target, meaning they also created enough opportunities to warrant a win. At the end of the day, a point each seems like a legitimate result for both teams.
The home side remain at the bottom of the table, only a point away from the safety zone. Leicester stay in ninth place in the standings, a point behind Everton, Bournemouth and Manchester United, who take up sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively.
