The man Arsenal have always feared has once again showed why they fear him. Two late goals from former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba sinks a sorry Arsenal 2-1 which saw them sit at third place in the Emirates cup.
The teams may change, the time may change, but Drogba will never! The Ivorian pulled an old trick from his bag to earn a penalty and subsequently converted it to equalise things. A few minutes later right before the injury time, Drogba latched on to Wesley Sneijder’s weighted through ball, and smashed a shot high into the Arsenal net. This is his 15th goal in 16 games against the Gunners.
As quoted by Arsene Wenger when Drogba left Stamford Bridge, he has come back to haunt him.
“I don’t know how much Chelsea miss him, but we don’t miss him!” Wenger told the Arsenal.com upon learning of Drogba’s departure from Chelsea in 2012. “He did a lot of damage against us in every game.”
However, there were claims that Drobga’s penalty goal was due to a dive. (Watch closely @1:50)
