Scouting For Wenger – Top Four Theo Walcott Replacements

Share

As one of Arsenal’s key players Theo Walcott will remain sidelined for rest of the season, the club must now buy a replacing striker/winger or must rely on one of their youth starlets. How can the Gunners fill up the gap left by the injured forward? Here are the four suggestions of how to replace the Englishman:

4. Serge Gnabry | Arsenal

Gnabry

If Arsenal were hoping to find a replacement inside the club, the 18-year-old should be taken into account. Despite still being part of the Gunners‘ youth system, Gnabry is said to be ready for first-team Premier League action. The German forward has had an outstanding start in the first team this year, as a result signed a new five-year deal with Arsenal. Another advantage from choosing this young star is the experience Gnabry gains with every league match he plays. This young winger is know for his impressive pace he uses to gain advantage over opponents, aswell as smart dribbling skills. He is also too strong for his age. Star in the making for sure.

3. Alvaro Morata | Real Madrid

Morata, 20, currently playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid has struggled to find a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven this season. The starlet has started only one La Liga game this season and could be set for a move out of los Galacticos. Arsenal have declared their interest in the Spaniard, as they have been on hot pursuit of a striker even before Theo Walcott got injured. A loan move with a buy-out option at the end of the spell will be a good deal for Arsenal.

2. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain | Arsenal

OX

The English winger has recently made his return after suffering from a serious knee injury from the opening day of the season. If the ‘Ox‘ managed to catch form for the ucpoming fixtured, it would be a great boost for the Gunners, whose title chances without their key player, Theo Walcott have significantly decreased. Oxlade-Chamberlain, aged 20, has played the role of a substitute and back-up to the Wenger’s first team last season. He is still a raw talent and Theo’s injury means he will get more chances to prove his worth in next 6 months. Who knows, he may even get selected for the World Cup squad.

1 . Dimitar Berbatov | Fulham

Berbatov

Last but not least is the Bulgarian veteran, who is an effective player and if well assisted finds the net very easily. The Gunners should bring Berba to Emirates on a short-term deal. A loan would have been a perfect option, nevertheless Fulham is not likely to loan out their key striker. The 32-year-old would surely improve Arsenal’s finishing statistics and would also be a great back-up for the team. The Bulgar has been scoring a goal in his latest three Premier League games and could be back in form. The times when Berba was being named EPL’s Top Scorer may be over, however it doesn’t mean the Bulgarian forgot how to score goals.

Arsenal may opt for better strikers like Diego Costa, Benzema etc…but keeping in mind that it is always difficult to sign world class players in January, Berbatov would be the cheap and best option available at the moment.
