According to a report in Lancashire Live, Arsenal are set to reignite their interest in teenage sensation Samuel Chukwueze.
The Gunners were all set to sign him in 2016 but the move broke down at the death. Three years later, the north London-based club are still keeping a close eye on the player (h/t Lancashire Live).
Chukwueze, who currently plies his trade for La Liga side Villarreal, has had a terrific season. The 19-year-old is now one of the main players for the Yellow Submarines.
On the other hand, it has been well-documented that Arsenal manager Unai Emery needs summer additions in the wide areas. Getting the Nigerian could be a step in the right direction (h/t Lancashire Live).
While the Gunners have been scouting him for a some time now, lets take a look about the player in a scout report:
Predominantly a right-winger, Chukwueze is adept in operating as a number 10 or as a striker. He has played in all those positions for Villarreal this season and contributed positively. Hence, we can say that he is a versatile option for any manager.
The 19-year-old arrived at the Spanish club in 2017 and played for the U19s. Since November of last year, he has been in action for the first-team. Now, the Nigerian is a key part of the squad.
With four goals and two assists in 20 league appearances (seven appearances from the bench), Chukwueze has shown that he can add to the goals tally from the wide areas.
In terms of attributes, the teenager possesses raw pace to terrify defences. His dribbling skills are outrageous, and one that troubles defenders in the wide and central areas.
He is not shy of cutting inside and taking a shot when the opportunity arises.
Furthermore, at such a young age, with all the skills in store, Chukwueze manages to make the right decisions in the final third, which is probably the most important aspect.

All in all, it is clear why Arsenal have been scouting this youngster and wanted to sign him three years ago. At 19, he is taking La Liga by storm. If the Gunners manage to sign him in the summer, Premier League defenders would have to be wary of him.
