Predicted Huddersfield Line-up To Face Bournemouth In The Premier League

Huddersfield Town return to action after the international break with an away fixture at the Vitality Stadium, against Bournemouth, on Saturday in the Premier League.

The Terriers are placed 10th in the league standings after 11 matches, with their previous encounter ending in a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at home. Manager David Wagner will be hoping that his team carry on in the same vein post the two-week layoff.

Team News

Centre-half Christopher Schindler is suspended after being sent off in the game against the Baggies before the break. Full-back Scott Malone is a slight doubt due to a knock, while fellow defender Michael Hefele is ruled out due to an Achilles injury. Loanee Kasey Palmer is also unlikely to feature because of a hamstring problem. Phillip Billing and Jon Gorenc-Stankovic are long-term absentees.

Here’s how the Terriers might line up against the Cherries

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: David Wagner

Jonas Lossl (GK)

The Polish stopper has been very impressive in the initial stages of his loan spell with Huddersfield. Should start in goal.

Tommy Smith (RB)

The club captain is a highly influential presence on the pitch for the Terriers and leads by example. Will start at right-back.

Mathias Jørgensen

Martin Cranie (CB)

With first-choice centre-half Christopher Schindler suspended, Martin Cranie should make his second league appearance of the season.

Mathias Jorgensen (CB)

The Dane has become a permanent fixture in the backline for the Terriers since joining in the summer. Will partner Cranie.

Chris Lowe (LB)

The German did not start the last game, but with Scott Malone an injury doubt, Lowe should return to the playing XI.

Jonathan Hogg (CM)

The midfielder has made a big difference since his return from injury. Will man the defensive midfield area against the Cherries.

Aaron Mooy

Aaron Mooy (CM)

The Australian is arguably the Terriers’ most important player. He will be tasked with driving the team forward from the middle of the park.

Elias Kachunga (RW)

The Congolese international has been a constant fixture on the right flank for Huddersfield this term. And that is unlikely to change on Saturday.

Tom Ince (CAM)

The former Liverpool academy man has been going through a rut, having had the most shots on goal without scoring. Will look to change that.

Laurent Depoitre

Rajiv van La Parra (LW)

The Dutchman should get the nod on the left-hand side of the attack. Can cause problems, but needs to do it on a consistent basis.

Laurent Depoitre (ST)

The big Belgian striker has been an effective option at the top of the attack with his physicality. Should keep his place in the line-up.

Raghavendra Goudar

Mechanical Engineer, avid reader and a football fanatic.
