Rooney And Lukaku’s Prospects Look Good, Think About Poor Man’s Ozil And Jääskeläinen – Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5 Preview

Share

The season is in full gear now with all the teams settled and aware of what sort of a starting eleven they want. This has made the life of the Fantasy Premier League managers a bit easier as they know exactly which players to employ in their team and which players to avoid. Gameweek 5 will boast of one of the biggest games of the Premier League, the Manchester derby. With Wayne Rooney back and the team performing well, the psychological advantage would be with the red half of Manchester. We will now take a look at some important factors that could prove decisive this Gameweek.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen looks a bright prospect – Spurs have got a very deep midfield line up, with many players fighting among themselves for a starting berth. But among them one player who has impressed the most is Christian Eriksen, who was transferred to the London side from Ajax this summer. Eriksen has a record of making brilliant assists and it looks like he has carried that form forward to Spurs. He has already made an assist in his very first game for the Spurs against Norwich and scored another goal in their midweek Europa League game. At £8.1m, Erkisen can be the poor man’s Ozil and continue providing points to his owners.

Romelu Lukaku

It’s time to get Lukaku in- It was understood at the beginning of this season that Lukaku would be the main striker for Chelsea. But then Jose Mourinho decided otherwise and sent him on a loan spell to Everton on the transfer deadline day. Those who had taken Lukaku had been disappointed till now, with his lack of game time and thus many had put him out of the team. But it seems now that Everton have got a rhythm about themselves and with a decent fixture at hand, it would be wise to spend £7.4m for Lukaku at the earliest, before his price soars.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney back to where he belongs- At last it seems that the ice has melted between Rooney and Moyes and the manager has now made the decision to play him upfront. Rooney made a stunning comeback the previous weekend to score a brilliant goal against Crystal Palace. He then added two more goals to his name in the Champions League match held midweek. All these points to the direction that Rooney will now be given a striker’s role although it is hard to contemplate that he will be exceeding Van Persie with the number of goals. But his price of £10.5m makes him a lucrative prospect for now.

Other possible additions you can think about:

Newcastle’s Loic Remy, West Ham’s Jussi Jääskeläinen (3 clean sheets from 4 league games doesn’t look bad for a  £5.5 million valued keeper) while Mignolet if you have already is also a sensible choice. Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen – mainly for managers who have Zabaleta or Evra in their team.

Soccersouls Predicted XI – Jääskeläinen; Coleman, Ivanovic, José Enrique; Barkley, Ben Arfa, Oscar, Ramsey, Eriksen; Rooney, Lukaku, Sturridge
