Leeds United News: Leeds United are eyeing a move for Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, who recently ended his loan spell with Rangers.
With Steven Gerrard willing to extend the winger’s stay at Ibrox, Leeds have joined the race alongside Aston Villa to lure him back to England.
Kent, 22, had a breakout season with the Light Blues, racking up an impressive six goals and nine assists in all competitions.
The Merseyside-bound youngster won the Gers young player of the season and also scored in both the Old Firm derbies at Ibrox.
The Whites endured an eventful Championship campaign, eventually losing their promotion chances. However, Marcelo Biesla remains steadfast to continue as the manager at Elland Road and will be aiming for a successful run in the forthcoming season.
Leeds’ attacking prowess in the final third of the competition was one of the key reasons for their promotion slump as their forwards failed to rise to the occasions.
Furthermore, they are also depleted with the options for wide men as Leeds’ prospect Jack Clarke is also linked with a move away from Elland Road. Given this, Leeds should go all out for Kent who can solve the Argentine manager’s attacking woes.
Though he has expressed his desire to stay in Glasgow, the Merseyside-bound winger hasn’t ruled out his intentions to return to England’s top-flight and this could pave a way for Villa, who earned a promotion recently.
And the chances of breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team are also hopeless as their star-studded attacking line-up can’t be disrupted at the moment.
